Zambia Mission Trip

I am off again and am asking for prayers, and I know that each of you will. The dates are Nov 15-Dec 3.

Destination, Zambia Africa.

I was asked to come teach, and I said yes…….

There is a small group of 4 of us traveling, and if all goes as planned I will be meeting the other three at the Heathrow Airport, if not, surely I can find Zambia on my own.

You all know this assignment is far beyond my capabilities. As I spent my time this last 6 weeks writing lessons to teach, I often wondered what God is thinking to ask this middle age, blonde woman to join Him in Africa telling people who He is. Yet I do know that He has instilled in me a passion for Him that overflows and simply can't be contained.

Specific requests:

That God will open the eyes to see Him

The ears to hear Him

The hearts to accept and love Him

And, that Africa is ready for me……I know that I am can be a handful.

My family and close friends are very excited for me as I am stepping out, in Christ, out to join associates of IMD International with accepting the invites to come and visit the worlds they live in. In fact, I have had two requests to come to Africa in the past 6 weeks and am planning a second trip in Sept 2013, taking three of my women leaders with me. God is so at work it is hard to keep up, yet I can't imagine not living a life that is "less of me" so that He can become more.

This journey to get ready has already changed me, all God wanted to begin with. I am packed and willing, and 2Cor 8:12 says that if the willingness is there the gift is acceptable according to what we have. And I do have a love for Him that knows no end.

I am grateful beyond belief to know that your prayers will stand in that gap for me,

I am a disciple of Christ.  He has called me to point others to God through teaching and mentoring.  It is a job that I love and have an overwhelming desire to do. I have been married to Larry for 32 years.  Together, we have raised two sons who learned the love of Christ through my husband’s example.  I am privileged to say that all three of my men “point me back to God”.

My passion is for women to experience a life transformed in Christ.  I have been pointing women to God’s Word for the past 15 years in the Sacramento area of CA.  I have guided hundreds of women through Experiencing God, Boundaries, and Heart Transformation.  Specific topics on which I have taught include Peter, The Woman at the Well, Isaiah, Exodus, James, Moses, Living Well at the End of Life and Living Passionately.  Currently, I am leading two weekly women’s Bible studies (Experiencing God and Boundaries) as well as mentoring several women.  I have scheduled an upcoming weekend workshop on Heart Transformation.  I speak upon request at my church and have facilitated numerous workshops on Hearing God’s Voice.  This fall, I lead a small women’s retreat on The Seven Deadly Sins.

I actually work as a Professional Volunteer. At present, I am involved with non-profit organizations including the local food bank, Chamber of Commerce, and American Cancer Society.  I also serve on the Board of Directors for a community partnership that works with my school district to provide access to services for at-risk students.  My community knows my relationship with Christ and is not afraid to ask me to stand and offer prayer in a business world.

My energy level seems to know no end. My passion ignites me.  I get to wake up each morning knowing that I have the opportunity to stand and obey the very Person who is the Breath I breathe.  I will share that passion with anyone who will listen; anytime, anywhere.

If I could ever have just one thing in life, it would be to never spend one moment apart from God.

From an IMD Donor:

It has been a privilege to support IMD International for the last 15 years. God has called them to go to the far reaches of the world to teach His word, to train up leaders, to translate the Bible into languages I did not know exited. Seeing this ministry making an impact in the world changes us, as they grow in assignments we get to watch God at work and know we are making a difference. That is our blessing.

"I readily admit that it verges on the impossible to describe in any degree of adequacy the conscious, manifest presence of God... The best I possibly can hope is to put forth my personal experience backed up by Scriptural exhortation. My part is only to whet the appetite and then trust the Holy Spirit to take it from there."
