I am a “preacher’s kid”, born in South Carolina, reared in Valdosta, GA and currently residing in Gray, Georgia. I attended college at Tennessee Temple University and graduated with a degree in Dealer Development from General Motors University. After 18 years in the automotive industry, I became involved in the mail presorting industry. Since 1994, I have owned and operated a mail presorting business in Macon, GA called MailSort Macon, Inc., which the Lord has blessed beyond measure.
My wife of 42 years, Pam, and I are the proud parents of two sons and a daughter and grandparents to six wonderful grandsons. We have been actively involved in church and mission activities for many years and are currently members of Glen Haven Baptist Church in McDonough, Georgia. I’ve served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, lay speaker, and finance committee member in my church. Pam and I conduct a Sunday church service once a month at a local retirement home. In January 2010, upon the home-going of my father, we took over the directorship of his Little Book Ministry which has spread the Gospel through the printed page for over 45 years. Missions, in our opinion, are the life’s blood of the local church.
We have been friends and supporters of IMD’s ministry for several years and have been greatly impressed at how God is moving through this ministry to impact lives around the world for Jesus Christ. It is our heart’s desire to do whatever we can to further the ministry of IMD and I count it an honor to serve on the IMD Board of Directors.
I am excited to be a member of the Board of Directors. My interest in this ministry developed and then flourished through the opportunity to be a part of a team involved in training church leaders in the northern province of Zambia along with Koos Basson (IMD Africa, Director). As I spent time with the women of the villages, my heart was touched both by the similarities and the differences in our lives. I saw first hand the difference “knowing Christ” makes in a world that is full of hardships – hardships about which most of us only read.
I live in Estes Park, Colorado with my husband Steve with whom I traveled to Zambia. We have been married 25 years and have 3 children: Forrest, Christina and Annika. We are involved in our local church which has included taking part in several short term mission teams. I am a nurse with a special interest in pediatrics and women’s health issues.
I am pleased to serve the Lord as a member of the Board of Directors of IMD International. As directors, we seek to find His way in reaching unreached people groups and training them to reach their family, friends and neighbors for Jesus.
Phil serves as President of IMD International. From my roots in Northwest Arkansas, God has walked me through ministry in some of the most exciting, impacting conservative evangelical churches in America. Saved as an adult; God immediately thrust me into service in 1973. Formal education came after getting involved in ministry; culminating in a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Southern Baptist Center for Biblical Studies in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Lord has graciously assigned multiple opportunities to serve Him and His servants in other countries and with multiple ethnic groups. Teaching and training the people of God is what God has called and assigned me all these years.
Since November 1993, when God gave birth to IMD International, it has become obvious that this is the progression of ministry God had planned for me. The one hallmark of walking with God that has been impressed on me more than any is this; Surrender all you have to God, He will direct you and use you as He pleases.

Chairman of the Board of DirectorsAl retired March 30, 2010 after 25 years in plastics manufacturing. The last 15 years were with Ball Corporation in various roles from Plant Manager to Vice President. A graduate of Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, his degree is in accounting. Soon after entering the manufacturing industry his leadership qualities resulted in a move to management. His career, spanning 30 years and 8 moves to different states, has afforded him daily opportunities to examine his faith, evaluate his personal growth and to mentor those under his leadership. Each move was a journey in faith and for over twenty years now, Al has had a passion for Bible Study and teaching others. He has also served as deacon, Sunday School Director, board member of Carson Newman College's Alumni Association and board member of IMD.
Al lives in Ooltewah, TN with his wife, Sue. They have two grown daughters Erin and Amanda. They also have two grandsons, Joshua, age five and Caleb, age 1 year. While living in Arvada, Colorado (2003-2007) Al taught a "new believer's class" that developed into a weekly Small Group Bible Study for more than three years. It was during these years at Foothills Community Church that Al met Phil Largent and first learned about IMD International. A relationship developed between Christian brothers and was solidified through small group Bible Study. Phil's passion to equip pastors was contagious and together with Al's passion for Bible Study, Al was quickly on board supporting the IMD efforts.

I want to follow God every day and bring Him glory. As I live this life on earth, I press forward to prepare the way for eternity by living in the way God calls us all to live - putting Christ first in everything that we do. Loving God and loving others is to be at the heart of what we do. What better way to love others than to bring the Gospel into their life. Through IMD International, I see bringing the Gospel to people that otherwise might not get the chance to hear it.
Having been a plumber since I got out of high school, I now own a one-man plumbing business focusing mainly on medical facilities. I am involved with a refugee program through my church to help the refugees assimilate into society. This was my first exospore to cross cultural ministry and missions. I enjoy working on and fixing many different things. I have been to Mali, West Africa doing some water projects and training of Bible students how to weld. I serve on the mission committee of my local church
I live north of Denver, 8 miles from where I grew up. I have been married for 20 years and have 2 daughters, 18 and 22 years old.
I am thankful for the opportunity to invest directly into the fields and projects through IMD International with the assurance 100% going for the ministry.
